VCC Database

Venture Capital Companies or VCCs invest in business ventures, providing capital for start-up or expansion. Venture Capital Companies look for a higher rate of return than would be given by more traditional investments. Generally, VCCs are looking for returns of 25 percent and up.

A VCC or venture capitalist is generally a professional investor managing a fund and looking for suitable investments for that fund. An angel investor is an individual who, while also looking for a suitable investment, is also looking for a personal opportunity.

The VCC Database is part of the bonus content you receive when you purchase the Write Winning Proposals training program. Here's a sample (reload this page for another) from the complete database. A VCC may have no business experience applicable to the industry your company is involved in, and is focused on the potential rate of return your company can provide. An angel investor often has business experience relevant to your company and is interested in adding value to your company, as well as making a return on his or her investment.

When considering an investment, VCCs carefully screen the technical and business merits of the proposed company. VCCs only invest in a small percentage of the businesses they review and have a long-term perspective. Going forward, they actively work with the company's management by contributing their experience and business savvy gained from helping other companies with similar growth challenges.
